I am in Philadelphia this week for a conference and I just witnessed the next President give his acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination. I am so overwhelmed with pride and awe. I honestly never thought I’d see in my lifetime a African-American man win the nomination (from either party) to run for the highest office in the land. I know the race has just begun, but this historic moment makes me think of my parents and grandparents who lived through the horrors of the Jim Crow south and what this means to them, to be able to witness this moment in their lifetime. To quote the future First Lady, Michelle Obama — For the first time in my life, I am proud of my country.

The Nominee?
Posted by Kim S. on May 7, 2008
After Barack Obama’s landslide victory in North Carolina last night, and Miss Hillary barely winning in Indiana (Clinton 51% Obama 49%), some in the media have pretty much said Obama is the nominee. Check out the Drudge Report’s headline:

And listen to Tim Russert on MSNBC last night….
I think its time to call it a wrap.

For Obama’s Army — "We’re A Winner"
Posted by Kim S. on April 25, 2008
It was a rough week for those of us in the Obama Army. And the longer this Democratic primary goes on, the nastier and rougher Miss Hillary, Bubba & co are gonna be. Miss Hillary will do just about anything to get this nomination, even if it means fracturing the Democratic party and possibly having another Republican in the White House in November. But despite the negativity that has permeated throughout this campaign, Barack Obama and his supporters are winners! And in honor of that, here’s Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions with “We’re a Winner”. As Curtis says, “we gotta keep on pushin!”
