Ludacris, You’re Really Not Helping….

I haven’t posted much in the last couple of weeks due my 9-to-5. But now things at work have slowed down a bit and I can get back to the business of blogging. Where do I begin…….

Luda, Luda, Luda!! Bro you are really not helping the O-man’s race to the White House. They lyrics to your new song “Politics” calling Miss Hillary a bitch….wrong move. And now the Obama Campaign has had to publicly denounce you. There goes that invitation to the Inauguration. I understand your excitement at the prospect of having the first Black President and a President that counts you as one of his favorite rappers. But Obama is playing for keeps, this isn’t some manufactured, YouTube hip-hop beef. You can’t just talk *ish about the opponent and move on. There are some very narrow-minded, dim-witted people who don’t have the ability to distinguish between the candidate and his supporters. People like that will take these lyrics use them against Obama as if he wrote them.

Obama is trying to obtain the highest office in the land. And in order to get there he’s going to have assure a lot of white people that it is okay to have a black President and that they don’t have to fear a bunch of big Negroes in white tees and cornrows won’t come to their door and throw them out the country.

However, as a hip-hop fan and a fan of yours, the song is hot! When are you releasing it?

Today’s Bitchassness Award Goes to……Bob Johnson (AGAIN)

The first and only time I issued this award it went to Bob “Tap Dancing Lawn Jockey Coon” Johnson, it was because he co-signed on Geraldine Ferrarro’s racist rants about Barack Obama. Well Johnson’s at again, this time he’s trying to get Miss Hillary to be Obama’s VP. He’s even trying to get the Congressional Black Caucus to pressure Obama to put her on the ticket. Here’s a copy of the letter he wrote to MY state Congressman, James Clyburn:

Dear Jim:

Now that you have endorsed Senator Obama as the Presidential Nominee of the Democratic Party; I, as a long-time supporter of Senator Clinton and of the Democratic Party, urge you to do everything possible to unify this party to win the Presidential election in November. For me and millions of other Democrats, I believe that the most important step that you can take now is to encourage the Congressional Black Caucus to urge Senator Obama to select Senator Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential running mate.

As a businessman I understand the vitally important role that a Democratic President can play in establishing programs and policies throughout the government that stimulate and support economic opportunities for African Americans. As African Americans we agree that the stakes in this election are far too high to take any chances that this party will not be unified from the top to the bottom in our effort to gain control of The White House.

You know as well as I the deep affection that millions of African Americans hold for both Senator Clinton and President Clinton. You also know that Hillary Clinton has been a long-term advocate for racial and gender equality, from her early days as a lawyer with the Children Defense Fund to her prominent leadership roles on these issues as First Lady and as Senator from New York. But most important, we need to have the certainty of winning; and, I believe, without question, that Barack Obama as President and Hillary Clinton as Vice President bring that certainty to the ticket.

Jim, as the highest ranking African American in Congress, I encourage you to follow your commitment to build a unified party by helping to make this a historic election of Senators Obama and Clinton who both have demonstrated that they have the courage and the ability to inspire and lead this nation to greatness today and for years in the future.

I hope Congressman Clyburn gave that ridiculous letter the disrespect it deserves and set it on fire. And watch here as “Toby” taps dances for Hillary on CNN. This negro had the nerve to say Obama’s win was “greater than the Emancipation Proclamation”.

As the staff over at Bossip says, “HO SIT DOWN!” You have no credibility Bob, and for continuing to play Miss Hillary’s personal lawn jockey, you get today’s Bitchassness award. As Debarge use to say “You Wear It Well”.

A Change Is Gonna Come……

I am in Philadelphia this week for a conference and I just witnessed the next President give his acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination. I am so overwhelmed with pride and awe. I honestly never thought I’d see in my lifetime a African-American man win the nomination (from either party) to run for the highest office in the land. I know the race has just begun, but this historic moment makes me think of my parents and grandparents who lived through the horrors of the Jim Crow south and what this means to them, to be able to witness this moment in their lifetime. To quote the future First Lady, Michelle Obama — For the first time in my life, I am proud of my country.

O Hell Nawl! Hillarious Hillary Comic Strip

I’m a huge fan of the blog O Hell Nawl!. Its one of the blogs I read everyday. Slaus and the crew over there keep me in stitches with their comic strips and hilarious commentary. The latest comic strip focuses on Miss Hillary using the RFK assasination to justify her staying in the race and how the public interpreted those comments. As usual, Slaus is hilarious and on point. Hillary Puts the Final Nail in the Coffin

Hillary Clinton essentially ended her campaign today and ruined any chance she had of becoming VP by invoking Robert Kennedy’s assassination to defend her decision to stay in the race. Speaking to the editorial board of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader about calls to drop out of the race, Miss Hillary said:

“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. You know I just, I don’t understand it.”

Now no one believes Miss Hillary is hoping something bad will happen to Barack Obama (like assassination) so she can win the Democratic nomination, but referring to assassinations with a Black man running for President is in really bad taste. And in light of Ted Kennedy recently being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, and June being the 40th anniversary of Robert Kennedy’s assassination, Miss Hillary really put her foot in it.

The so-called apology:

“I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever.”
What about Barack Obama??? I notice he isn’t mentioned in this non-apology apology. So Miss Hillary didn’t mean to offend the Kennedy family, but Obama on the other hand….

But leave it to MSNBC’s Keith Olberman to put the verbal smackdown on Miss Hillary. His special comment tonight was blistering to say the least.

There Can Only Be One

Will today’s primaries in Kentucky and Oregon finally end this? Will Miss Hillary finally drop out of the race so Barack Obama and the Democratic Party can finally focus on John McCain and the general election?

West Virginia Primary…Big Whoop

Hillary Clinton won a landslide victory in the West Virginia Primary.

Obama still leads in delegates with 1,881, now just 144 short of the 2,025 needed to clinch the nomination. Clinton has 1,713 — 312 short.(source)

SNL’s Hilarious "Hillary" Skit

I haven’t watched much Saturday Night Live recently, and the Hillary/Obama skits that I did see, seemed to be very pro-Hillary. However, this past Saturday, featured a hilarious skit where Hillary talks to the nation about how she’s gonna ‘win’ the election.

ABC News Reports Obama Leads in Superdelegates

It’s a wrap! From ABC News:

ABC News’ Karen Travers Reports: For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton’s support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate.

Sen. Obama, D-Ill., picked up two superdelegates this morning giving him a new metric to tout in addition to his current commanding leads in pledged delegates, popular votes, states won, and money raised.

Rep. Donald Payne, D-N.J., switched his endorsement from Clinton to Obama and Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., endorsed Obama. DeFazio was previously uncommitted.

With these endorsements, Obama has the support of 267 superdelegates and Clinton has 265 superdelegates.

Every news organization’s superdelegate count is a little different because it is an imperfect science. Since October 2007, the Political Unit has continuously reached out to the nearly 800 superdelegates to determine their candidate preference. We also reach out regularly to the Obama and Clinton campaigns for their superdelegate lists and work to confirm any that they include on their lists.

Clinton’s advantage among superdelegates was once massive and has been dwindling steadily since Super Tuesday, when she was ahead by over 60 superdelegates.

Clinton’s institutional support from within the Democratic Party allowed her to build a commanding lead in superdelegates over Obama in the early part of this nomination battle.

Despite several rough weeks on the campaign trail, Obama has maintained momentum in picking up superdelegates. Obama has outpaced Clinton at every marker of this campaign since Super Tuesday — after the controversial comments of Rev. Wright came out, after Clinton’s big win in Pennsylvania and after the Indiana and North Carolina primaries.

Time Magazine Names Obama the "Winner"

I absolutely love this cover….

Now Time magazine is declaring Sen. Barack Obama the democratic nominee. He is featured on the latest edition of the magazine titled “And The Winner* Is…” I love the asterisk symbol on “winner”. At the bottom of the cover it says “Really, we’re pretty sure this time”. Hilarious! I guess the asterisk is just in case Miss Hillary and her clan decided to pull some last minute shenanigans to steal the nomination. As an Obama supporter, I holding off on my celebration. I will wait, til May 20th after the Oregon primaries to do my shouting. I wouldn’t put anything past those shady Clintons to figure out a way to pull the rug from under Obama.

However, with Obama picking new superdelegates in New Jersey and Oregon and getting the endorsement of the American Federation of Government Employees its just a matter of time before we can truly call him the Democratic Nominee for President.

In the meantime I plan to pick up a couple of issues of Time to keep as souvenirs. One day I’ll be able to show my baby girl the picture of the first Black President of the United States!
